BLACKBIRD is a dimension all its own, a playfully imperfect experiment in design and scent, where all humans are invited.
Established in 2004, Blackbird evolved over time into a fragrance design house specializing in perfumes and incense. The brand is known worldwide for its forward-thinking installations and products.
BLACKBIRD'S founder and Creative Director, Nicole Miller, is the guiding spirit behind the brand. Nicole approaches design from a place of boundless curiosity and fearless ingenuity, gently bending the rules to reveal what has not yet been seen. All BLACKBIRD products are handmade in our studio in Seattle, Washington, USA. We strive to keep our products as sustainable and natural as possible, and are deeply dedicated to continual improvements to our formulas, packaging and methods. Just got a sample of anemone along with triton, hallow, and broken glass. Anemone works best with my skin and I cannot stop huffing my wrist. I look crazy but I literally cannot stop. Smells like my mother’s shalimar mixed with my favorite incense and a whiff of a mysterious person’s perfume at a glorious sweaty and sexy late night concert. Cannot. Stop. Smelling. It. This is gorgeous. catching a waft of this off someone's neck is an olfactory dream. It seem to me to tip ever so slightly in the masculine direction. It's dry and somewhat medicinal, very wood-focused (the gaiac and sandalwood are most prominent to me), and there's a lovely incense thing going on. I am a woman and I would wear it, but it is definitely not fleur-based or traditionally feminine. It's contemplative/ruminative/meditative, quiet, soothing, not loud or perfumey, kind of like tam dao by dyptique, if you know that one. It seems to have high quality pure essences; I detect no chemical fabrication.
